La Nucía sits inland on rising ground, and much of its housing is villas and houses on urbanisations, many of them built decades ago and now due for new windows, doors and shutters.
Away from the seafront, the concerns change. Salt is less of an issue, but sun, wind and age are not. Frames from the early days of an urbanisation can be warped, single-glazed or badly sealed, and a villa on a slope is exposed on one side to the full force of the weather.
Many of these houses are lived in for part of the year, which makes security a recurring request. Others are permanent homes where owners simply want to be warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Replacing Windows in La Nucía Villas
A villa on a hillside often has windows at several levels, a lower floor opening onto a terrace and a main floor with views. The openings differ in size and exposure, so we look at each rather than quoting one product for the whole house.
Older frames are commonly the first thing to go: thin aluminium sections that rattle, timber that has swollen and split, or glass that has misted. Replacing them improves the look of the house as well as how it feels to live in.
We fit new frames square and sealed, and make good the reveals so the finish is clean and ready for decoration.

Urbanisation homes usually have a pool, a terrace or a garden, and the doors to them are used constantly. A sliding door that drags or a hinged door that has dropped is a daily irritation, and often the cause is fixable.

Sun on south-facing glass is the main reason owners ask about glazing here. The right combination of glass, blinds and shutters makes rooms more comfortable, and we keep our advice general rather than quoting figures.
Hillside urbanisations can be very quiet out of season, so a strong entrance door, locks that engage firmly and shutters on vulnerable openings are good value.
Roller shutters can be fitted or repaired at the same time as the windows, so the housings and finishes line up.
