Benissa has an old town of solid houses, a countryside of fincas, and a coast of villas. One place, three kinds of property, and three different ways of approaching windows and doors.
A finca is a different job from an apartment. It may have several outbuildings, doors of varying age, shutters that have been repaired many times and a main house that has been extended in stages. Sensible work starts with a walk around, not a catalogue.
In the old town, openings are tall and often arched, and a new frame must respect the facade. On the coast, villas have large glazed terraces and need frames that last in the salt air.
