A Benissa finca on open land has room that a flat cannot offer, along with long cables and supplies that need care. We plan solar and chargers around the land, not just the house.
Benissa's countryside is dotted with fincas and houses on rural plots, and that changes what is possible. There may be space for panels on the ground, on an outbuilding or over a covered area, as well as on the house itself.
Land also means distance. The main supply may enter the plot a long way from the house, the barn or the parking area, and long cable runs need proper sizing, protection and burying. These are bigger jobs than most town installations.
Closer to the coast, villas look more like those elsewhere, with sea air to consider. We start by working out which type of property yours is, because the two call for different answers. We also look at whether a house is close enough to the coast to be affected by salt.
Land
With open land, we can consider a ground array facing the sun squarely, away from tiles and chimneys. It needs a firm base, clearance from vegetation and a safe cable route back to the building, and it should not interfere with how the land is used.
Outbuildings with sound roofs can make good hosts, particularly if they face well and have little shade. We check the roof's strength and condition, because an old barn roof may not take panels without strengthening. Ground arrays need fencing or placement that keeps animals and machinery clear of them.
Older fincas often have thick tiled roofs that were never meant to carry equipment. We inspect the timbers and structure, and our builders can deal with problems before anything is fixed to them. Orientation on open land is easier to get right than on a roof, which is a real advantage.
Cabling
A cable that crosses a large plot has to be chosen for the distance and buried or protected against tractors, animals and weather. We map the route with you and note anything beneath the ground, such as water pipes and irrigation.
If the supply is old or marginal, the board and the connection may need attention before extra load is added. We examine what you have and say so if the existing supply is a limit. Protective tape and depth markers in a trench help whoever digs there in future.
We do not install systems that depend on promises about off-grid living. If you are thinking about something more ambitious, we discuss honestly what a home system can and cannot do. A simple plan of the route is left with you, marking the depth and path of each cable.
Charging
Cars may sit by the house, under a carport or in a yard near the track. A charger needs a sheltered, stable position, and a long way from the board means a separate cable and protection. Lighting and sockets at the same buildings can be run in the same trench for little extra effort.
Dust, rain and the occasional stray animal all affect where we place equipment. We keep units off the ground, protected and out of the line of vehicles. Gates and entry systems can use the same route, which is another saving of effort.
Coastal villas near Benissa's shoreline have a different issue: salt air. We select and seal fittings for it, as we do elsewhere along the coast. Dusty tracks mean we mount units well above the ground and shield them from splashes.
How it works
Rural visits take longer, because we walk the land. We look at where the supply enters, where the house and outbuildings stand, and where the sun falls across the plot at different times. Because plots vary so much, the quotation includes a short description of each cable route.
A written quotation follows, showing the equipment and the cable route on a simple plan. We send photos while work is under way, and you can see the progress even if you are abroad. We also check access for our vehicles along tracks, which are sometimes narrow.

Often yes, if there is clear land, a stable base and a safe cable route. Whether it is permitted is a matter to confirm with the town hall; we advise at survey on what to enquire about.
It affects the cable size, protection and cost, but it is usually workable. We plan the route, check for pipes or irrigation underground, and set it all out in the written quotation. The size of the cable is chosen for the distance involved.
Only if the structure is sound. We inspect the timbers and tiles first, and if they need repair our builders can do it before any equipment goes on. We will say if the roof is not suitable.
