Benissa offers fincas in the countryside, period houses in the old town and villas by the coast. A shower in each begins with the same question: where does the water come from, and where does it go?
The range of homes here is wide. A finca may have grown in stages with pipework to match, an old town house has tight rooms and stairs, and a coastal villa has a modern system but wants a bathroom that makes the most of its view.
Because of that spread, there is no standard shower. In the countryside, supply and drainage can be more individual than in a street of terraced homes. In the old town, space and access control the design. On the coast, the aim is often a calm, open wet room.
Since 1999 we have worked up and down this part of Spain. Each stage of the shower is ours: plumbing, building, tiling and glazing arranged by one manager, and we speak plainly about what suits each kind of property.
Fincas
A finca often has a patchwork of materials: old stone, later block, and pipes from several decades. Before adding a modern shower, we trace the waste and supply to understand what you have, since a new base is only as good as the pipe beneath it.
Rural properties may not be connected to the same services as a town house. Where the supply comes from a tank or pump, pressure and flow affect how a shower feels, and we talk about that at the survey. Drainage destinations matter too.
We do not guess. If we need to see inside a chamber or follow a pipe to know the answer, we do it before quoting. That way the design you choose has been tested against the house, not a drawing.
Old town
Period houses in Benissa's old town have character and limited space. Bathrooms may be small and awkwardly shaped, and stairs are steep. A walk-in shower can bring welcome openness, but the planning has to respect the building's structure.
A fixed glass panel is often the best fit in a small room, since it lets light through and avoids a door swing. A narrow shower with a niche can fit where a bath once sat, with enough space left for a basin and toilet.
Getting materials to the room can take effort. We plan how tiles, panels and glass will be carried in and how waste will leave, and we include it in the quotation so the job proceeds without unwelcome surprises.
Hard water
Many homes here notice limescale quickly, whether on glass, taps or tiles. We cannot stop minerals in the water, but we can choose surfaces and details that make wiping them away quick and tolerable.
Bigger tiles or porcelain sheets reduce grout. Glass with few brackets means fewer corners to scrub. A shower head with removable nozzles can be cleaned easily, and a simple mixer is simpler to service than an elaborate one.
If your finca or villa has a tank or softening equipment, we plan the plumbing so it can be reached and maintained. A little thought during installation spares you effort and replacement costs later.
How it works
Initially we visit, measure the bathroom, trace supply and waste, and inspect the floor. Once you have explained your wishes we offer honest advice and then compile a written quotation, which costs you nothing.
From there the order is clear: strip-out, plumbing, base, sealing, tiling, screen and fittings. You are sent images of every stage including the concealed layers, and we inspect the completed work with you on handover day.

Yes, in most cases. We follow the water supply and waste first, because country houses vary widely. Once we know what the pipes and floor allow, we design a base and sealing system that suits the building.
It can, since pressure and flow change how a shower performs. We discuss your supply at the survey and plan fittings to suit it. If anything needs changing upstream, we tell you before work starts.
Often. One fixed pane and a niche can suit a small room well. We take exact measurements, check the floor and drain, and suggest a layout that suits the space instead of crowding it.
