Most Benidorm showers are in flats, and that shapes everything: the pipes belong to the building, the neighbours sit above and below, and the lift is part of the plan. We build walk-in showers that respect all of it.
Benidorm is a town of tall apartment blocks, with an older core of narrow streets behind the seafront. A walk-in shower here is almost always a flat bathroom job, usually a small room where an old bath or a deep tray takes up more space than anyone needs.
Swapping that bath for a level shower is the single biggest improvement in many Benidorm flats. The room opens up, cleaning becomes quicker, and the entrance stops being an obstacle for visiting family, older owners or guests carrying luggage.
Our history on this coast stretches back to 1999, and flats make up a large part of what we are asked to improve. Every trade is in-house and coordinated by a single manager, so nobody waits on anybody else while the block's rules are respected.
Shared buildings
In a block, the floor under your shower is somebody's ceiling. That makes the waterproofing layer far more than a technical detail, because a failure becomes a neighbour's stain and a dispute rather than just your repair. We seal the base thoroughly and explain each stage in the quotation.
Pipework is often shared. Waste pipes and risers run through the building, and the position of your drain is limited by where they sit. We check this at the survey, so the design places the drain where it can genuinely connect, not where it looks tidy on a drawing.
Courtesy counts too. Noise, dust and lift use affect the people around you. We keep to sensible hours, protect common areas, and advise giving the block's administrator notice of the dates, since many buildings have their own rules.
Small rooms
Benidorm bathrooms are frequently compact and windowless or lit by a small opening. Removing a bath and fitting a fixed glass panel lets light travel further across the floor, and continuing the same floor tile into the shower makes the room read as one space.
Design choices carry more weight when every centimetre counts. A recessed niche saves a shelf that would catch the elbow, a compact heated towel rail dries towels without taking up wall space, and a wall-hung toilet frees floor area where room is tight.
We also keep ventilation in mind. A shower in a closed room needs somewhere for steam to go, so we look at the extractor and whether it works properly, rather than leaving a noisy old fan to do an inadequate job.
Lettings and visitors
Many flats here are let to holiday guests or used heavily for a few months each year. A bathroom in that situation needs surfaces that wipe clean in minutes, grout that does not stain and a floor that is safe for people who do not know the room.
Big tiles or porcelain sheets keep joints to a minimum. A single glass screen with few fixings cuts down on places for limescale to build up. A simple, robust mixer is easier to maintain than something elaborate with small parts.
For owners who visit rarely, we can also fit a drain with easy access for cleaning. Little jobs like this sound minor, but they save repeat call-outs when the flat has been empty and a different guest arrives each week.
How it works
The first step is a visit to the flat. We measure the bathroom, find where the waste leaves the room and look at the floor, or we go through it with you by video if you are abroad. A written quotation follows at no charge, setting out stages and materials.
After dates are agreed we organise deliveries around the lift and the building's rules, then strip out, form the base, seal it and tile. Photographs reach you as each stage ends, and the finished shower is checked with you before we call the work done.
Questions
Generally, yes. Out comes the bath and in goes a sealed base with its own drain, subject to the route of the waste pipe. The survey tells us if a flush entrance is realistic or a small raised edge is needed.
Some noise is unavoidable during strip-out. We work sensible hours, protect lifts and landings, and recommend telling the community administrator in advance, as buildings often have rules about works. We tell you what to expect at the survey.
