Bathroom Renovations Benidorm

Most bathrooms in Benidorm sit inside apartments, often in high-rise blocks, and that shapes everything about how the job is planned and carried out.

Benidorm is a town of apartment blocks. Many of the bathrooms we are asked about are compact rooms in a tower or a mid-rise building, with a bath that no longer suits the owner, a shower tray that has been patched more than once, and tiles from the year the flat was first furnished. The old town has its own older flats and small houses, where the walls and floors are rarely square.

In a block, a bathroom renovation is a different kind of job from a villa. Pipes and drains are shared with neighbours above and below, access for materials is through a lift or a stairwell, and the building has its own expectations about working hours and noise. A good plan allows for all of that before the first tile is lifted, rather than discovering it on day one.

Dragon Reforms has worked across the north Costa Blanca since 1999. We design the room, strip it out, rebuild it and finish it, with our own plumbers, electricians, tilers and plasterers on one programme. Many Benidorm owners live abroad for part of the year, so we keep you informed by phone and photographs while the work is under way.

Small rooms

Making a Compact Apartment Bathroom Work Harder

A great many apartment bathrooms are small, and the most effective change is often the simplest: take out the bath and the enclosure and put in a walk-in shower with a single fixed glass panel. The floor appears to run further, the room feels lighter, and cleaning becomes easier. For a flat that is used mainly as a holiday home or a rental, that practicality matters as much as the look.

Storage is the other half of the answer. A floating vanity unit with drawers, a recessed niche in the shower wall and a mirror cabinet can take the clutter off every surface. We measure the room carefully and draw the layout around the space you actually have, instead of fitting a stock arrangement and hoping.

Where an owner wants a lived-in, family bathroom rather than a minimal one, we can keep the bath and still reorganise the room around it. Either route is a design decision, and we set out the options clearly so you can choose with the plan in front of you.

Finishes

Tiling, Surfaces and the Details You See Every Day

In a small room, fewer joints make a visible difference. Large-format porcelain on the walls gives a calmer, more continuous surface than small tiles, and it is easier to keep clean in a climate where bathrooms are used heavily through the summer. The floor needs to be slip-resistant where the shower meets it, and the falls to the drain need to be right from the start.

Basins and mirrors are where a bathroom gets its character. A wide basin with a good mirror, properly lit, can make a plain room feel finished. We help owners choose proportions that suit the wall they have, and we coordinate the plumbing and the electrics for lights and mirrors so everything lands where it was drawn.

Plastering and painting are part of the same programme, so walls and ceilings are left ready for the final coat rather than waiting on a separate trade.

Older flats

Old Town Homes and Flats With a Few Years Behind Them

Some Benidorm bathrooms have not been touched for a long time. When the room is stripped back, it is common to find tired supply pipes, waste runs that drain slowly and wiring that was fitted to an earlier standard of use. These are far easier to deal with while the walls are open than after new tiles are on.

Where there are signs of moisture, we look at the cause rather than painting over it. Damp proofing is something we also carry out, so a stained wall can be investigated and treated as part of the same job.

If a bathroom needs to be easier to use for an older relative or a guest with limited mobility, level-access showers, grab rails and well-placed lighting can be worked into the design. Our Disability Living work covers this in more detail.

How it works

How a Bathroom Renovation in Benidorm Works

We start with a visit to measure the room and discuss what you want from it, including how the building handles deliveries and working hours. Then comes a written quotation, which is free, setting out the work to be done. Once you are happy with the plan, we agree dates, order materials and strip out the old bathroom.

Plumbing and electrics come first, then waterproofing, tiling, plastering and installation, followed by painting and a final check. Throughout, you receive updates by phone and photographs, and the work is guaranteed on the terms set out in the quotation.

Questions

Bathroom Renovations Benidorm — Common Questions

Can you renovate a bathroom in a Benidorm apartment block?

Yes. Apartment bathrooms are a large part of what we do in Benidorm. We plan access, materials delivery and working hours around the building, and we handle the plumbing, electrics, tiling and finishing ourselves.

Is it worth replacing a bath with a walk-in shower?

In a compact room it often is. It frees floor space and makes the room easier to clean and use. If someone in the household prefers a bath, we can look at layouts that keep one.

I live abroad. Can the work be managed without me being there?

Yes. Many of our clients are in the UK, Scandinavia, the Netherlands or Germany. We keep you updated by phone and photographs, and we speak English and Spanish.

Do you offer bathroom renovations in Benidorm for rental flats?

We do. For rental and holiday properties we suggest durable, easy-clean finishes and straightforward fittings that are simple to maintain between guests.
