Homes that are lived in every day use power differently from holiday lets. We design solar, battery and charger work for La Nucía's year-round villas, where the system earns its place or does not.
Much of La Nucía is villas on good-sized plots inside urbanisations, many occupied by families or retired residents who live here all year. That is a very different starting point from a holiday home: somebody is in, cooking, washing and cooling the house on ordinary weekdays.
This is where solar tends to be worth discussing seriously, because daytime use is real and regular. We still make no promises about savings; what we can do is size a system to how your household behaves and tell you what it could realistically cover.
Families here also tend to have two cars, and sometimes more. Adding chargers is not just a matter of one wallbox; it is a question of how the supply is shared, where the cars park and what else is running when they plug in.
Daily use
We begin with how your household lives. Who is home during the day, how much air conditioning runs in summer, whether there is a pool pump or electric water heating, and what the pattern looks like across the year. The answers decide how large a system makes sense.
A bigger roof is not an argument for a bigger system. If much of the production would go unused, we say so, and sometimes a modest array with sensible storage suits a family better than covering every tile. Pool pumps and water heaters often run in the daytime, which is worth discussing when sizing.
We also look at the roof itself. Clay tiles that are loose, a structure that has moved or a roof due for repair should be dealt with first, and our builders can do that before panels are mounted. Roof repairs done at the same time as panels save scaffolding and repeat visits.
Charging
When two vehicles charge on the same evening, the load is considerable and runs for hours. We check what your supply can carry alongside the house, and talk through whether both chargers need to run together or whether the system should share the available power between them.
Detached garages and carports are common on La Nucía plots. Powering them means a dedicated cable from the main board, buried or fixed along a wall, and we plan this before anyone digs so the route avoids pipes, irrigation and planted areas.
We fit units that suit outdoor use if the cars park in the open, and we mount them where the cable reaches the car without being pulled tight or left across a path. Where cars are parked at the front of the plot, the cable route and the unit position should be chosen together.
Longer runs
On bigger plots the distance from the main board to the garage, pool equipment or guest annexe can be considerable. Long runs lose power if the cable is too thin, so size and route are decided together, not left to the day.
Many villas have boards that were sufficient when the house was built but have since collected extra circuits for air conditioning, pool pumps and outbuildings. We check the board and propose changes where it needs them. Outbuildings that are likely to be built in future can be anticipated with spare ducting while the trench is open.
If you plan to add a guest annexe or workshop at the same time, mention it. Running one set of cables and one board upgrade for several jobs is tidier than repeating the work. A labelled board makes it easy to see which circuits feed the garage, pool and annexe.
How it works
We call at the villa, study the roof, the board, the meter position and where the cars stand, and ask how the household uses power across a normal week. That conversation matters more than any brochure. We also note where the meter, gate and irrigation controls sit, which saves surprises on the day.
After a written quotation, work is scheduled around the family. Roof work is done in dry weather where possible, cable routes are marked beforehand, and we leave the board labelled and the installation explained to everyone in the house. Final testing is done with you present so you can see the charger and the system working.

It can be, because daytime use is regular. Whether it suits you depends on roof space, orientation, shade and how you use power. We survey, advise honestly, though we make no claims on savings or payback.
Usually it is possible, but it depends on your supply and board. We check what is available, discuss whether both cars will charge at once, and quote for either two dedicated units or a shared arrangement.
Yes. A dedicated cable runs from the main board to the garage, buried or fixed safely, fitted with suitable protection along its length. We plan the route before work starts to avoid pipes and planting. We will also tell you honestly if the supply to the house turns out to be the limiting factor.
If the tiles or structure need work, it is wiser to deal with that first, because panels make later repairs harder. Our own builders can assess and repair the roof before the panels are mounted.
