La Nucía is mostly villas and homes on hillside urbanisations, where people live year-round and the kitchen is asked to do a great deal.
A kitchen in an inland hillside villa works harder than one in a holiday flat. It feeds a family, takes the weekend lunches, and often connects to a utility room, a terrace or a garage. That affects how much storage you need, how the room flows and how well the surfaces cope with daily use.
Many houses in the urbanisations were built to a similar plan, and the kitchen from that original plan is now the part that feels dated. Replacing it is rarely about squeezing things in. It is about getting the layout, the lighting and the working zones right.
Because we employ our own plumbers, electricians, tilers and painters, a kitchen here can be treated as a proper reform rather than a fit-and-leave job.
Storage and flow
The first thing we ask is who cooks, how often and for how many. A couple who eat out regularly need a different room from a family with children. The answer shapes everything from the width of the aisles to the number of drawers.
Pull-out larders, deep drawers and a tall bank of storage usually make better use of a villa kitchen than extra wall cabinets. They keep work surfaces clear and reduce the stretching and bending.
We set out the working triangle between sink, hob and fridge on the drawing and then check it against how you actually move.
Surfaces and finishes
Granite, quartz, laminate and timber are all options, and each behaves differently around heat, water and knives. We explain those differences plainly and let you handle samples before choosing.
Worktops are templated on site once the base units are in, so the cut-outs for sink and hob follow the real position of the cabinets rather than a drawing.
A solid splashback behind the hob and a tiled strip beside the sink protect the plaster. We match the tile to the units so the whole run looks intentional.
Services
An older urbanisation villa may not have enough sockets, and the circuit for the oven may have grown by accident. We check what is there and bring it up to what a modern kitchen needs.
Plumbing is renewed where it is tired and moved where the layout asks for it. Taps, sinks and the waste connection are fitted at the same stage as the worktop.
Once the final connections are made the appliances are tested, the room is cleaned and you get it back.
How it works
We start with a measured visit and a conversation about how you use the kitchen. A plan, a choice of finishes and a written quotation come next, and the quotation is free. Visits to our suppliers let you compare units, worktops and tiles in person.
The job is then run to one programme by one contact. If you spend part of the year elsewhere you receive photographs and updates, and the work is guaranteed within the scope set out in the quotation.
Questions
A like-for-like replacement is usually a matter of a week or two on site. Moving services, re-tiling the floor or taking out a wall adds time, and the programme in your quotation sets it out.
Often, yes. We check the space, plan the services and make the bar part of the unit design so it looks built-in rather than added on.
Yes. We can fit your own or supply new ones through our local suppliers, whichever suits you.
No. Many owners are not. Keys can be held with us, and you are kept informed with photographs and calls.
