With the Peñón de Ifach on one side and the sea on the other, Calpe’s kitchens have to cope with salt air as well as everyday use.
Calpe has a lot of apartments close to the sea, many of them bought as holiday homes and used heavily for part of the year and not at all for the rest. A kitchen there needs to be easy to close up, easy to clean on arrival and tough enough to resist the damp and salt that come with the coast.
On the hillsides above the town the housing is villas, often with views towards the Peñón. Rooms are larger, and the questions turn to layout, storage and how the kitchen meets the terrace.
We design, supply and fit the kitchen as one package, with our own tradespeople handling the plumbing, electrics, tiling and finishing.
Salt and humidity
Salt-laden air and humidity are hard on cheap hinges, handles and fixings. Handleless fronts remove one set of exposed metal fittings, and good-quality hardware inside the cabinets keeps doors closing properly for longer.
Sealing matters around the sink, the splashback and the worktop edge, because standing moisture is where problems begin. We pay attention to those joints during fitting.
Ventilation helps as well. A properly ducted extractor takes steam out of the room instead of letting it settle on the units.
Holiday homes
If the flat is used seasonally, simplicity pays. Smooth fronts, a wipe-clean worktop and fewer fiddly corners save time on every visit.
Appliances should be reliable and easy to understand, particularly when other people stay. We can supply and fit them, or fit ones you have already bought.
Owners usually live elsewhere in Europe, so we manage the job remotely: photographs, calls and decisions agreed in advance, with keys held with us when you prefer.
Hillside villas
Villa kitchens here often have scope for an island or peninsula, which can separate cooking from the living area without closing the room off.
These houses may have older wiring and plumbing that have been altered over time. We inspect what is behind the old units and renew where it makes sense.
Floors, plaster and paint are finished at the same time, so the room is complete when we leave.
How it works
We begin with a visit to measure, check the services and discuss how the kitchen is used. You then receive a layout and a written quotation, which is free, and you can see samples at the suppliers.
After approval the work proceeds in order: strip-out, first fix, plaster, tiling, units, worktops, final fix. One project manager runs it in English or Spanish, and the work is guaranteed within the scope set out in your quotation.

Handleless or plain slab-front units with sealed worktops are practical choices, since they cut down on exposed fittings and are simple to wipe clean.
Yes. We manage the work remotely, send photographs through the job and can hold the keys until you arrive.
We do. Our plumbers and electricians reroute the services as part of the kitchen job, then tile and decorate to match.
