Microcement Calpe
Living under the Peñón de Ifach means damp sea air most of the year. That makes sealing and waterproofing the real subject when microcement is chosen for a Calpe bathroom, balcony room or floor.
Calpe has a long seafront of apartment blocks and, climbing behind, villas on the slopes. Moisture-laden air reaches both, though it is strongest near the shore, where it settles on walls, tiles and metal fittings and lingers in rooms with poor ventilation.
Bathrooms feel it first. Grout in older tiled showers darkens and softens, and replacing it is a recurring chore. A continuous coating cuts the number of joints where mould can take hold, which is the main reason Calpe owners ask us about it.
Fewer joints do not mean no maintenance. A coating is only as good as the sealer and the layer beneath, and in a humid climate both are tested daily. We therefore discuss ventilation, waterproofing and aftercare as seriously as colour and texture.
