La Nucía is mostly villas on inland hillsides, many in urbanisations. Pressure, long pipe runs and houses that stand empty for months are the plumbing themes that come up most.
Much of La Nucía’s housing sits on slopes above the coast, in estates of villas where each plot has its own terrace, garden and often a pool. The plumbing in these houses is more extensive than in a flat, and it depends heavily on the supply reaching the property.
It is also a town where many houses are second homes. A villa closed up for most of the year can develop problems no one sees until they arrive, so a lot of our work here is checking, diagnosing and putting things right before the season.

Pressure first
When a villa sits high on a slope, water has to climb to reach it. Showers weaken, the washing machine takes ages to fill and taps splutter. Lower down, the opposite can occur, with pressure strong enough to damage fittings.
The cause is not always the supply. We check pipe sizing, valves, filters, scale build-up and how the system is arranged inside the house. Sometimes the fix is modest. If equipment is needed, we explain what it will do and what it will not.
Where houses rely on a storage tank or deposit, the same principle applies: understand the setup you have, then improve it where it is weak.
Empty houses
Plumbing doesn’t like being unused. Rubber seals harden, tap washers dry and sediment settles inside water heaters. When water is turned back on after months, small weaknesses show themselves quickly.
A visit before your arrival lets us check the visible pipework, test valves, look at the heater and fix what has deteriorated. You then arrive to a house that works, not a list of jobs.
If you prefer, we can also check on the property between visits and tell you what we find, with photographs where useful.
Upgrades
Villas built a couple of decades ago often have bathrooms that are due for replacement and water heaters that have been fighting scale for years. We replace both, and we use the opportunity to renew tired connections and isolation valves.
Cooler months in the hills can feel colder than people expect, especially in tiled houses. Radiators or a heating system can be added as part of a renovation, and it is easiest to plan the pipework while floors and walls are open.
Everything is set out in the quotation, so you can compare the full job against the option of doing it in stages.

Tell us what is wrong and where the house is. We visit, look at the system and talk through what you want. The quotation is free and states the scope clearly.
Once agreed, we carry out the work, test it and leave the house clean. If you are overseas, we keep you informed. Our work is guaranteed, with the details in the quotation.
