Alfaz del Pi and Albir have a settled, residential feel, and a good share of the homes belong to people who have lived here for many years. Some are apartments in blocks near the Albir seafront, some are villas on the slopes behind, and the two places run into each other, so a single conversation can cover both.
Because so many residents are long-term and know exactly what they like about their home, the aim is nearly always the same: stay put. People do not want to move to somewhere flat and soulless. They want to keep the terrace, the garden and the neighbours, and make the house work for the body they have now.

Staying put
Most adaptation requests here start with something small. A rail by the shower, a seat, a better step at the back door. Then, once you start to look at the house with fresh eyes, more things appear: the hallway light that is never bright enough, the bedroom threshold, the bathroom door that does not open fully.
We find it helpful to look at the whole day. How do you get up, wash, dress, make breakfast, go out and come back? Every point in that day where you hesitate is a place where a small change might help, and the best plans come out of this kind of conversation.
Where possible we plan so that the home will still work as needs grow. A shower built at floor level and a bathroom with space for a helper will serve you now and later.
Villa and apartment
Albir apartments are usually on the level and served by a lift, so the focus is inside: the bathroom, the kitchen and doorways. The bathroom is typically the first job, converting a tray or bath into a walk-in shower, with a seat, rails and non-slip tiles.
Villas on the hills above bring steps and slopes into the picture, plus terraces and a pool. Here a handrail along the steps and a firm path to the car are often the first priorities, followed by the bathroom. Both home types have tiled floors, and we pay close attention to how slippery they are.
The mix means we adapt our approach to each house rather than applying a standard package.
Kitchen and pool
In the kitchen we can lower worktops, replace low cupboards with deep drawers and place the hob and sink where they can be used from a seat. The result should look like a good kitchen, not a medical one.
For homes with a pool, we can fit rails and ramps, and lay slip-resistant surrounds, so that swimming remains a safe pleasure. For community pools, any changes depend on the agreement of the neighbours, and we advise on what is likely to be workable.
We like to leave things looking right. Rails in good finishes, tiles chosen with care and neat joinery mean the home still feels like yours.
How it works
We start with a visit and a conversation about your day. We measure, photograph and note the routes through the home. You then receive a free written quotation, with the work broken down so you can see each part and choose whether to do it all at once or in stages.
We keep disruption low, tidy as we go and agree timings with you in advance. When the work is finished, we go through each feature with you and make any adjustments.

Usually yes. We plan the work so the bathroom is out of use for as short a time as possible, and we discuss the arrangements with you in advance.
Yes. We can add rails and ramps to the pool, lay slip-resistant surfaces around it, and improve the route from the house to the water.
Not if we can help it. We choose finishes that suit the house, and the aim is a bathroom or kitchen that looks good first.
Yes. Many clients start with the bathroom or the entrance and add other parts later. We set out the stages in the quotation.
