Pergolas & Outdoor Living Alfaz del Pi & Albir

This area mixes beachside apartments, villas climbing the hills and older village fincas. One team builds the pergola, plans the cabling and finishes the floor, whichever kind of home you own.

Few places along the coast pack in as many types of home as this one. Close to the sea there are shared buildings with terraces facing the promenade, the slopes behind hold villas from different decades, and inland the older houses and country properties sit among newer developments.

Each calls for a different outdoor solution. An apartment needs a light, correctly fixed structure with the community on side. A villa may want a large covered dining area with lighting and a fan. A finca often wants something in keeping with stone and tile, built to last decades.

Cabling and power make the difference between a pergola and a usable room, so we plan them before the work. Wherever the property stands, we agree where lights, sockets and fans go, then run the routes before the paving, decking or concrete base covers them.

Apartments

Compact terraces in shared buildings

On a flat near the seafront, space is limited and every fixing is visible to neighbours. We suggest slim structures that suit the building, and we fix them into the slab or wall rather than into render. Colour and form are kept in line with what the community accepts.

Other owners in the building may have to approve a new structure here, and possibly the town hall too. Our survey will say whether we think either is probable, and we give you the dimensions, colours and materials to ask with, which usually makes a decision quicker.

Holiday and second-home owners tend to want low-maintenance finishes, because nobody is on hand to oil a pergola every spring or sweep the terrace after a storm, so we favour finishes that forgive neglect. We choose treatments and surfaces that cope with absences, and we explain realistically what care is still needed.

Villas

Hillside villas and the covered dining area

Villas on the slopes behind the coast often have large terraces looking over rooftops to the water. A covered dining area close to the kitchen is the most common request, with a fan above, lighting at the edges and somewhere to put cushions away from rain.

The cabling is where planning pays. Conduits for lights, a fan, sockets and perhaps outdoor audio are laid before paving, with spare capacity for future use. Our electricians do this alongside the groundwork, and we mark the routes on a plan we give you.

Because hillside plots slope, we also check that the new structure is not sitting on a shifting base and that rainwater will run away from the house. Steps, railings and retaining walls are part of the same job when the levels need them.

Fincas

Older village properties and stone terraces

Further into the village, country houses have thick walls, stone terraces and tiled roofs. A pergola here should look as if it belongs, using heavier sections, warm finishes and details that echo existing beams. We take time to match, not just to build.

Older terraces may have uneven floors, old drains or patches of damp. We inspect these before anything is built, and where repairs are needed we suggest dealing with them first, since lifting a new floor to fix an old problem is expensive and disruptive.

If you already have a vine-covered frame or old timber that has aged, we can advise whether to restore it. Some old pergolas have good bones and need only new fixings and a fresh finish, which is cheaper and keeps the character of the place.

How it works

How a Pergolas & Outdoor Living Job in Alfaz del Pi & Albir Works

We visit and measure, then ask what you want to do outdoors: eat, relax, entertain, or simply keep the sun off your head. For villas and fincas we also walk the garden to see how the structure relates to the pool, the steps and the house walls, and where cables could run.

The written quotation covers the structure, floor, electrics, finish and any masonry, and sets out the order of work. If you are not in the area, we agree the plan remotely and send pictures as the work proceeds, so you can approve each stage.

Questions

Pergolas & Outdoor Living Alfaz del Pi & Albir — Common Questions

Can I add a pergola to an Albir apartment terrace?

Often yes, so long as the slab and walls are capable of carrying it and your community is content. We check the structure, say whether a town hall licence looks likely, and design something slim and suitably finished for the building.

Can you restore an old pergola at an Alfaz del Pi finca?

Frequently. If the main members are sound, we replace damaged parts, fit new fixings and refinish the timber. If rot has reached the posts, we show you where and explain why replacement is the safer route.

When should lighting cables be installed?

Before floors are laid or concrete poured. Cable routes in a finished terrace mean cutting into new work. We plan the routes with you at the design stage, mark them on a drawing and leave spare conduit for later additions.

Do you build in both Alfaz del Pi and Albir?

Yes. We work in the coastal Albir area and in the village and hills of Alfaz del Pi, on apartments, villas and older country houses. Each property is surveyed individually, because a terrace by the promenade and a finca in the village raise very different questions.
