Holiday Home Refurbishment Alfaz del Pi & Albir

This stretch of coast mixes apartments by the water, townhouses in residential schemes and villas that rise up the slopes. A good refurbishment starts by recognising which of these you own, since each wears out in a different way.

Homes around Alfaz del Pi and Albir were mostly built for people who wanted a place in the sun, which means lots of properties that are used seasonally and refreshed rarely. Typical complaints are dated bathrooms, tired kitchens, worn terraces and a lack of cooling.

What differs is scale and access. An apartment can be refurbished in a few weeks by a small team working from a lift. A villa on a hillside has gardens, steps and several levels to coordinate, and the work needs more planning.

We take on both, working to a written quotation and managing each trade ourselves. Whether the house is lived in for a month in summer or let to visiting family, we aim to leave it easier to maintain than we found it.

Apartments

Flats and Townhouses in Residential Schemes

Many homes here sit in schemes with shared gardens and pools, and neighbours close by. We check the rules before starting, plan noisy work for reasonable hours and protect shared spaces from dust and damage. Fitting the work between other residents' routines is a skill we take seriously.

The usual refurbishment brief is a fresh, bright interior that copes with guests: hard-wearing floor tiles, a wet room or modern shower, a kitchen that is simple to clean and a lick of paint throughout. None of that demands big structural changes.

Townhouses add a terrace or small garden to look after. Repairing a worn terrace surface and refreshing rendering around the entrance often improves the property's look more than expected. Often a short list of improvements makes the biggest difference to how a house feels.

Hillside

Villas on the Slopes Above the Coast

Hillside villas have steps, retaining walls and plots at several levels. Water on a slope finds weaknesses fast, so before decorating we check drainage, retaining walls and the state of lower rooms. We check how well a retaining structure is built before deciding what can be cosmetic.

Views are usually through large windows and onto big terraces, both of which show their age. We renew glazing that has stopped sealing, repair terraces properly and refit handrails so the outside is as safe as it looks. We replace worn rails and loose treads on outdoor steps at the same time.

Garages and utility spaces under the main floor often hold the water heater, pumps and fuse boards. We inspect these during survey, as renewing ageing equipment is far easier during a refurbishment than after a failure. Pumps and heaters in a lower store are best renewed before the winter, not after a failure.

Practicalities

Keeping Running Costs and Worries Down

A refurbished home should be easier to look after from abroad. Simple finishes, a modern consumer unit, sound plumbing and cooling that works reduce the chance of an unwelcome message about something broken. Every maintenance suggestion we give is something you can do or have done cheaply.

We discuss maintenance with you at handover, such as which surfaces need re-sealing, how to protect shutters and what to check on arrival. This is practical advice, not a service contract. We keep a note of finishes used, so later touch-ups match what is on the walls.

Some owners prefer to spread work over two visits, doing the bathrooms first and the kitchen later. We can plan in stages if it suits your budget and calendar, but we point out where staging means disturbing finished work. We give straight answers on that, even when staging looks less tidy than a single block of work.

How it works

How a Holiday Home Refurbishment Job in Alfaz del Pi & Albir Works

We begin by visiting and finding out how you use the property: how many people stay, when and for how long. That shapes the design far more than a catalogue does. A written quotation follows, detailing the work and the order we propose.

Once approved, we run the job under one manager, send photographs as it develops and consult you on any change. A final clean and walk-through, in person or by video, completes the handover. Questions that arise on site are answered in plain words, without jargon.

Questions

Holiday Home Refurbishment Alfaz del Pi & Albir — Common Questions

Do you cover both Alfaz del Pi and Albir?

Yes, this page covers both. A separate page deals with the coastal Albir area alone. Across this part of the coast we refurbish apartments, townhouses and villas, with every trade run as one job. Ask if you are unsure which page fits.

Can you do the work in Alfaz del Pi in stages around my visits?

Often, yes. Staged work suits some owners, for example bathrooms first and kitchen later. We tell you where stages create extra disturbance or cost, so you can decide with the facts in front of you.

Which rooms should I prioritise in an Albir holiday home?

Usually the bathroom, kitchen and cooling, because they affect comfort most. We give our view at survey after seeing the condition of each, and the written quotation can show each part separately so you can choose.

Will the quotation include everything?

It lists exactly what we will do and what is not included, so there is no ambiguity. If we discover something unexpected during the work, we explain it and agree any change with you before proceeding.
