Albir homes are often holiday lets or second homes, handed from guest to guest. We plan solar and chargers for properties that need to work for strangers and keep working when nobody is there.
Along the Albir seafront and up the slopes towards the Sierra Helada, many apartments and villas are used for holidays. Guests come and go, occupancy is uneven, and the owner is probably elsewhere, so reliability and simplicity matter more than clever features.
Guests with electric cars are increasingly common, and some owners ask whether to offer a charger. It is a practical question: where it goes, who pays for the power and how it is kept safe for people who have never seen it before.

Lets
A rental has to be idiot-proof. We keep electrics straightforward: clearly labelled boards, tidy circuits and nothing that needs a manual. If something trips, a guest should be able to find the board and reset it, and you should be able to talk them through it.
Solar in a let works differently from solar in a family home. Occupancy varies, so output and use do not always match, and we explain what happens in the weeks the property is empty. Spare labels for the board, kept in the property, help whoever covers for you.
We make no claims about rental income or occupancy. We look only at the electrics and the equipment. A written instruction sheet in English and Spanish can be left on site, if you ask for one. Cleaners and caretakers often discover faults first, so make sure they know who to call.
Chargers
A charger in a holiday let needs to be safe for a stranger to use. We choose units with sensible controls and fit them where the cable reaches without crossing a path or a public area. Cable and plug types vary between cars, so we advise on what to leave out for guests.
Questions of how guests are charged for the power, and what the terms of your rental say, are yours to settle, but we can describe what the equipment can and cannot do. Some units simply supply power; others have more features.
In a block of flats, the parking belongs to the community, and its agreement is usually needed. We check what applies and write up the work so you can put it forward. Outdoor positions should be lit and clear of steps, which we check when marking the spot.
Hillside
Villas rising up the slopes have views and, usually, enough roof for a worthwhile array. The hills behind can throw shade at certain hours, so we check the sun's path against the surroundings before settling on positions. Gates, alarms and pool equipment can be set to stay powered even when the villa is empty.
Many of these villas stand empty for long stretches, with pool pumps, gates and alarms needing supply. We plan which circuits must stay live, and explain the effect of a system on the house when it is closed. Between-let weeks are usually enough time for panel work on a villa roof.
Salt air reaches the lower slopes, so fittings are picked for outdoor use and sited with care. Check-in days are avoided for power cuts, and we plan interruptions around them. Corrosion-resistant mounts are used on the lower slopes.
How it works
Most Albir owners are overseas, so we begin with photographs and a video call, followed by a visit if you are coming. We ask about the booking pattern to understand how the property is used. Keys can be collected from your agent or caretaker, and we confirm each visit with them.
The quotation is written and itemised. We arrange keys, schedule the work in a quiet spell between lets, and send photographs. A written note on the installation stays with the property for future visitors and caretakers. We also ask who to call if a guest is in the property on the day of work.
Questions
The answer turns on how often the property is occupied and how much it uses. We assess honestly and make no claims about rental income. Sometimes a modest system or none is the better recommendation. We usually need only a day or two of access for a charger, longer for panels.
That is your decision, but we can explain what fitting one involves: location, supply, safe use by guests and community approval in a block. We install the equipment; the arrangements with guests are yours. Where a property is let at short notice, we agree a flexible start date.
Yes. We plan around your calendar where possible, using quiet weeks, and give you a realistic estimate of the time needed so you can avoid clashes with bookings. A charger is a convenience for guests, and we explain how to switch it off if you choose.
